CAT Match Report
Low scoring game at Bangkok AIT
Maldives looked shaky at the start, playing and missing. The Maldives total was significantly helped by the regular gift of extras by the Chinesse bowlers, a total of 24 throughout the game. China bowling attack started to take wickets from the very first ball of the innings and were sucessful to get both the openers out in 10 runs. Besides the opening bowlers, China’s first change bowler Wang Jing was on fire by taking 5 wickets in just 5 overs. Middle order batsman did’nt even lasted for more than 10 balls except for Mohamad Akram who stayed there for 33 balls and got some support by the lower order batsman which helped Maldives reach the total of 68 runs in 19 overs
Maldives was quiet dissapointed by their low scoring innings, until China came into bat. None of the Chinesse players were able to score more than 7 runs and only a few were their who played more than 10 balls. Maldives only had to use their three bowlers who wrapped the innings in 11.1 overs with Ahmed Ameel (4-14) and mohamed shameen (3-2.1). Unfortunately China had two injured players who were not able to bat and China innings finished by 29 runs.
Though Maldives won the match but performance which was given by Wang Jing of China was remarkable and he was awarded as Man of The Match
