National Youth Cricket Championship 2011

CHIANG MAI DOMINATE NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

The second National Youth Cricket Championship which was held in Bangkok from 5th to 8th January 2011 was a triumph for the Cricket Association of Thailand as nine boys teams and six girls teams competed for honours, and in particular for Chiang Mai who won both boys and girls tournaments and remained unbeaten in all their matches.

The first National Youth Championship was held in Bangkok in November 2009, when six boys teams and four girls teams took part, so the second competition showed the rapid pace of development in youth cricket in Thailand. Ten teams participated in 2009, 15 in 2011 as no fewer than 23 15-over matches were staged in what was an enthusiastic festival of cricket.

National Youth Cricket Championship 2011

Cricket is establishing a very strong foundation for itself in Thailand. This year cricket will reach new heights in Thailand. Having set the things in motion with the highly successfully inaugural National Youth Cricket Championship, this year an additional 7 teams will be competing, bring the total number of teams to 15 teams. The Second National Youth Cricket Championship will take place in Bangkok from 5th to 9th of January, 2011. 9 Men and 6 Women Under 19 teams will be taking part at the TCG and AIT grounds.
