MCC is the world's most famous cricket club, Founded in 1787, Today, MCC's role remains as relevant as ever. From guarding the game's Laws to safeguarding its Spirit, and from promoting cricket to young people to looking after Lord's, MCC is committed to the good of the game.
MCC's teams play around 500 matches a year. They set off for overseas tours to destinations as diverse as Tanzania and Cyprus (and now Phuket, Thailand) to help increase cricket's international appeal.
In planning these trips, MCC works closely with the International Cricket Council (ICC). This helps to maximize the tours' effectiveness in increasing cricket's international appeal and assisting national teams' move towards one-day international or even Test status.
